www.CreditRepairPublishing.com MARRIED? (or plan to be?) What You Need to Know BEFORE Signing Any Credit Application! Have you ever wondered if banks approve one gender for credit MORE than the other? Have you ever wonder if there is credit sexism in the marketplace? Hmmm…. The Federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act (FECOA) would have you believe that all sexes are approved for credit the same. But we all know that the relationship to income and credit approval is very strong. In our society if you make less money you will get less credit and that is a fact of life. It’s for this reason that women need to be even sharper and more educated about credit than men. Consider building your own credit in your own name. Never merge credit files unless you are looking to gamble and willing to be responsible for the other person if things don’t work out. Remember, if you share your credit, you share the responsibility and are putting yourself on the line. Credit cards of course of the most potential for abuse. We’ve all heard the stories and statistics. Over 50% of marriages now result in divorce. If you are willing to put your credit report and credit file on the line with a 50% chance of losing… then that is up to you. Just think before you leap. If we want to get ahead we need to think ahead. Expect the best but plan for the worst. It’s just a good insurance policy. Please rate this video. Your support is appreciated.

I was contacted via phone this evening from a lawyer regarding a credit card debt that I believed to have been paid off by my ex husband, whom I divorced in 2000. The woman would give me NO details other than to say it was in my name and told me I had to contact the bank I had the credit card with for answers. I requested a copy of my credit report and sure enough it was there, the account was opened in 1998 and then it shows it being charged off in 2002 yet tonight was the first time anyone has ever contacted me about it. I honestly cannot remember if I signed the credit application or not; my ex opened alot of accounts without my knowledge and I was listed as an authorized user but according to the credit report this account was joint. I just want proof that I signed a credit application; do I have the right to request such proof? I told the woman that called that I am disputing this matter; she aruged that the account is in my name but I know it isn’t. What can I do?

What is the punishment for lying about age on a credit card application?
Filed Under Credit | 3 Comments
I’m underage (16) and I got to thinking about people my age who have credit cards (and not with their parents account/consent). They’ve lied about their age on the application. Is there any punishment for this? Does anyone find out? Could a minor really get into trouble for this? Can’t you just pay off the card?

Will a credit card application today affect closing on a home tomorrow?
Filed Under Renting & Real Estate | 4 Comments
I’m closing on a house tomorrow. Will my credit card application that went through today (rejected, btw) affect anything tomorrow? Or is it safe to assume all of the loan stuff is pretty much done, we just have to sign the papers? I have no credit history.
We’re signing the papers tonight, but since it’s after business hours they said it won’t go through until tomorrow. Does this make any difference?
