I am currently enrolled in a consumer credit counsling and I know now, after working in credit services, that this is hurting my credit hit, I desire to take myself off of the program and pay back my creditors on my own, being in a more financialy stable position than when I origionally enrolled, the website says if I pay off my creditors without going through my ccc accompanying, or removing myslef from my “re payment program” I will not recieve a “letter of release” which they pretend will make it “virtually impossible to re-establish my credit”…is this confessedly or just a threat to maintained you enrolled….I assume it would be better to be off this program paying my credit cards back by myself…can i re-establish my credit without thier “letter of release”?

ask someone with good credit (and that u trust) to get a card in ur name…even if u ne’er use it…u automatically adopt their credit score, or at least some of it. but if they don’t pay the bill…ur also liable since ur an authorized user on the account.

No, that’s not legal. Are you sure the application wasn’t an application for a loan through the company that also has credit cards? Double watch that first, otherwise complain to manager and if in US, Better Business Bureau.

Question by Sarah B: What do I do with a credit application?
Someone faxed over a credit application that is signed. They want us to set a credit limit for them. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with it. Am I supposed to call the banks that they have listed? What am I supposed to ask the banks?
It was signed by the person who filled out the application. We are a retail store and they want us to set a credit limit for them so they can buy from us
WHAT DO I ASK THE BANKS?

Best answer:

Answer by John P
I don’t know what you mean by “signed”, who signed it ?
I get applications all the time and with each application there has to be by law a paper called ” Solicitation Disclosures”. This will spell out everything like the APR, Annual Fee etc.
Anything like this that is faxed to me is a SCAM. I would just trash it.
