Question by atehero: How does Consumer Credit Counseling calculate payments?
My husband and I will be going thru CCC with a non profit agency and we will be meeting with them next week. We have approx 42k in credit card debt and pay around $ 1400 monthly on all of the credit card payments. Does anyone know what our new monthly payment to CCC might be? We are thinking they might be able to reduce the payments down to around 1000 monthly but we’re not sure. Thanks.

Answer by Brian G
There is no one answer to your question. CCC will serve with you to make a budget, determine what you can afford to subsidize, then work to get the cc lenders to accept that amount.

In other words, do you have to be current to start credit counseling? About how much would they reduce my monthly payments? I was paying about $ 400/mo. Thanks.

Sure you can….It’s impossible to tell how much they could reduce the payment….Call and ask…there is no obligation.

Question by Jon Ragland: Is illegal to lie on a credit card application?
Is illegal to lie on a credit card application about your job or career title and how much money you actually make at this phony job? I am planning to file bankruptcy. I am actually unemployed and was when I filed out the card application and then upon having and activating it I maxed it out in a matter of 5 months. Can I be prosecuted in criminal court for this? Will my bankruptcy be denied?

Why are most credit card interest rates higher now than they were before the Obama Consumer protection act pa?

Question by Banker: Why are most credit card interest rates higher now than they were before the Obama Consumer protection act pa?
higher than before the Obama Consumer protection moved passed? They are all coming in now between 13 and 25 %, what happened to the 6-7-8.9% being offered before the Democratic Congress passed the Consumer Credit Protection bill??

Best answer:

Answer by Unclejoe1917
Most bills like that are just befooled’s gold used as something an administration can show to to make it look wishing they are doing something. About the best thing you can hope for in government most of the time is deadlock. At least then, they can’t mess anything up any worse.

Question by hottiecj *~♥~*~♥~*: Does anyone know how I could become a Consumer Credit Counselor in Indiana?
I want to be able to help people with their financial problems. Budgeting, debt reduction and elimination, basic estate planning and such. I would like to work for one of the non-profit organizations. Not one of those “debt relief” places that take your money and ruin your credit.

Question by toni: Will a credit card application today affect closing on a home tomorrow?
I’m closing on a house tomorrow. Will my credit card application that went through today (rejected, btw) affect anything tomorrow? Or is it safe to assume all of the loan stuff is pretty much done, we just have to sign the papers? I have no credit history. We’re signing the papers tonight, but since it’s after business hours they said it won’t go through until tomorrow. Does this make any difference?

You’ll be okay unless the lender runs an endure minute credit check. realtor.sailor

Is there a credit card application that will give you an immediate response?

Question by sde: Is there a credit card application that will give you an immediate response?
I simply recently came back from vacation and am going on another in approximately two weeks, where extra funds would be nice to have. I am curious to know if there is a legitimate (key word) online credit card application that doesn’t take 30 days to give a response. And if there is, what is the website?Thank you all for all of your help. I went with Capital One.

Best answer:

Answer by Victoria
Yes, there are. There are enough of them out there, a lot of them tin verify you write over the internet if you prefer. Try Capital One, Wachovia, Chase, Discover, etc. Those are a few that are common. Maybe you tinning do some searching on the internet to see what Visas are available. If yo do get one, try to shop for 1 with a low interest rate. They all sound good at first until you find out what the fees are, etc. Good Luck.

Can the Banks lower their consumer credit requirements to boost business?

Question by a_paradigm: Can the Banks lower their consumer credit requirements to boost business?
The feds holding lowering key interest rates to help banks/creditors away however it seems the reality shows that anyone with prime (725+) credit is not going to be spending any money in this down economy. Is it fifty-fifty possible for banks and creditors to lower their expectations and issue prime rates (tier 1) to people with lower credit tally (say 675 fico and over)? It seems this maybe one of the ways to start boosting the economy.

Best answer:

Answer by ishootpix
Banks issue credit and price that credit according to risk. The current economy is partially owed to the lax lending standards which were prevalent.
