What happens if you lie on a credit card application?

beccardi462 asked:

Example: if I’m unemployed and say that I’m employed?

my friend did it and she’s freaking out now lol she hasn’t been employed for about 5 months now if that helps…
Some more questions would be if it will affect her applying for future cards or anything? Or will the company call/mail her anything accusing her of fraud?

Is there anything she can do? Like call the company and cancel the application?

filling out credit application for a car.do I have to disclose an old chap 7?

frickafrack asked:

I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1998 and was finalized in January 1999. I am filling out an application for an auto loan. I am currently debt free and have a credit score around 780. On this application it asks if I have ever filed for bankruptcy. If my Chap 7 has been more than ten years do I have to mark “yes” on the “have you ever filed” part?
Thanks guys. I assumed yes and was going to mark “yes”, but wanted some clarification.

What should I do if my credit card application was denied?

:) asked:

I just tried submitting an online application for Capital One after receiving an offer in the mail but it was denied right away. I read somewhere that your credit score can be lowered from getting denied from too many. It’s my first time trying to get one so I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do. How am I supposed to know which ones will deny my application? What should my next step for getting a credit card be?

What does ‘every credit application will be accepted’ really mean?

LoneGoth asked:

I’ve seen it in a car ad commercial, and I’m wondering if it just means they’ll run everyones credit application to see if your approved for credit, or if everyones approved for credit. I think it’s the first one, but it never hurts to be sure.

What is the bankruptcy court admissibility of a credit application if there is no date on the application?

sixfiguredesi asked:

I may have to file bankruptcy and my credit application has an overstatement of assets. There was no fraud intended and I do have net assets of the amount stated. However, there is no date on the application. Can it be thrown out?

What Does This Mean On A Credit Card Application?

Claire de Lune asked:

I’m thinking of getting a new credit card. Even though I’ve made every payment on time and in full my current card is starting to add all kinds of fees. On the application, under “Interest Rates and Interest Charges”, it says “If you are charged periodic interest, the charge will be no less than $1.50″. What is “periodic interest”? The application does not explain what this is.
