Is lying about income on a Credit Card application illegal?
From what I understand they very rarely verify the income you list.
Is there anything illegal about exaggerating annual income on a Credit Card application for the purposes of getting approved/getting a higher starting limit?
Please don’t give me ethics, I just want to know if it constitutes fraud (could be a typo for all they know) or if there’s anything illegal about my SPECIFIC question.
I would like a Yes or No if possible.

Instead of giving rewards to AIG and others at taxpayers expense, to the tune of 10s of thousands, ?
Since American taxpayers are going to pay for the bailout, wouldn’t it be better to just letAIG fail and give each person legal in the US that will “pay” instead the money directly? The reason to given for the bailout it is so consumers can get loans, use credit etc? Why not let them just have access instead? Would it be cheaper? Isn’t it really just to protect stock holders? What Sayeth you?

Privacy act and other legal issues?
A is a company that is involved in the collection of marketing information (magazine subscriptions) and usually purchases them off other parties. The thing is, one of A’s employee saw that a firm also included their consumer’s credit card and personal details. The employee said that it shouldnt go into their database but this was rebutted by his boss, as he thinks only the database managers would have access.
The question here is, under the Australian law, what are some of the legal issues faced and the dilemma the employee is facing? What could and should he do? Help please!
Thanks

can u legally reduce credit card debt without being sued?
I see all these ads to help consumers get rid of their credit card debt from these companies that say u can do it legally. Also most say that debt can be instantly reduced by 40-70%. Can this be for real, I don’t see how it is possible without reprecussions. Can u do it on your own?
I am not behind in my accounts…yet!! But I dont know how much longer I can keep making the payments. Just trying to get some relief from these huge payments, takes up almost 50% of my take home pay right now!!!
