Consumer Credit Directory – credit application

July 28, 2010

Is there a credit card application that will give you an immediate response?

sde asked:

I just recently came back from vacation and am going on another in approximately two weeks, where extra funds would be nice to have. I am curious to know if there is a legitimate (key word) online credit card application that doesn’t take 30 days to give a response.
And if there is, what is the website?
Thank you all for all of your help. I went with Capital One.

Yes, there are. There are plenty of them out there, a lot of them can verify you write over the internet if you prefer. Try Capital One, Wachovia, Chase, Discover, etc. Those are a few that are common. Maybe you can do some searching on the internet to see what Visas are available. If yo do get one, try to shop for one with a low interest rate. They all sound good at first until you find out what the fees are, etc. Good Luck.

Try CapitalOne….I just was approved for a 500.00 limit after a discharged bankruptcy in 2/08 and was surprised at my limit, after 5 months good pays, I’ll get increased to 750.00 I did the application online at and was approved within minutes, got the card about 3 or 4 days later. Good Luck!!

Go to creditcards.com and there’s a whole section for Instant Approval Credit Cards. Also, Capital one usually gives a quick response (but the credit limits aren’t too great with them). I hope that helped!

Yes, for several American Express cards AmEx will approve or deny you within 60 seconds. The same is true for several Citi, Chase, and Discover cards. I believe Capital One does the same.

You can use this rewards calculator to figure out which card will pay you the most in rewards for your expected travel expenses:

Oh, it’s also worth mentioning that if you’re traveling abroad, with Capital One cards you can avoid the usual 3% foreign exchange fee. Discover cards do the same, but they aren’t as widely accepted overseas (only China as far as I know).
