Someone faxed over a credit application that is signed. They want us to set a credit limit for them. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with it. Am I supposed to call the banks that they have listed? What am I supposed to ask the banks?
It was signed by the person who filled out the application. We are a retail store and they want us to set a credit limit for them so they can buy from us
WHAT DO I ASK THE BANKS?

I don’t know what you mean by “signed”, who signed it ?
I get applications all the time and with each application there has to be by law a paper called ” Solicitation Disclosures”. This will spell out everything like the APR, Annual Fee etc.
Anything like this that is faxed to me is a SCAM. I would just trash it.

You are a retail store and you don’t know what to do with a credit application?

How long have you been in business?

Send it to your credit department and have them call the banks listed on the application. They are references. This will help you decide weather you want to offer credit to the applicant.
