Believe you cannot obtain a paper credit card application?

Question by spider: Believe you cannot obtain a paper credit card application?
I have requested a paper credit card application for my father who would be 86 and would prefer to submit an application by mail. I was told that there was no place online to print the paper application, but paper applications were available from branches. As the closest branch would be a 24 mile round trip I wonder when I call the branch they will use their bulk rate postage to sent an application by mail or insist I drive to the branch? Does this smell of some kind of discrimination against those who choose not to reveal credit card information online?

Best answer:

Answer by Andrea
I’m sure if you called the branch and asked them to mail you an application, they’d be happy to do it. It sounds like you may have called the bank’s 800 number and I’m surprised they weren’t equipped to mail you an application.

I have had a credit card application declined…what does this do to my credit record?

Question by samaxius: I have had a credit card application declined…what does this do to my credit record?
I applied for a credit card, but my application was declined with no concluded given. I assume they have searched a credit agency. What will this have done to my credit file and will it affect any future applications?

Best answer:

Answer by that_girl_4455
It doesn’t hurt you. Having many creditors acknowledge you can help you but denials do not hurt you. If you have 50+ requests (whehter they are denied or accept) it may knock you dont a few points (possibly 10) but that is only if you credit is already bad, because it is just adding to your ‘history of bad usage’
