Question by VR: should I worry about identity theft if I have received a credit card application for a person with a different
I received a credit card application to my home address for a person that had a different first name but the same last name as mine? Should I worry about identify theft? I have children that all have social security numbers. Should I worry that their number has been stolen and someone is using a phony name with their social security number? How can I check if this could have happened?

The fact that this solicitation bears a name different than yours indicates it is NOT an identity theft situation. Relax.

Should I ask my boss to lie for me on a credit application for a car?

Question by prusso73: Should I ask my boss to lie for me on a credit application for a car?
The credit company wants me to make more money than I do. They will not consider my boyfriend’s income because we are not married and his credit is too bad to be on the loan. I already have the car, now they want a letter from my stamping stating I make more than I really do. If my boss says yes, great. But, I don’t want him to view me as unethical.

Best answer:

Answer by aeshamali
Don’t ask him to do this. It will make you look untrustworthy, and your boss probably won’t respect you as much. He’ll wonder what else you’ve lied about (did you nestle on your resume? Your interview? About your work?).I don’t understand how, if you already have the car, they can emanate back and ask you if you make more money than you do. They extended ascribed to you based upon the amount of money you made when you asked for the loan.

Question by cschuson: On a credit card application, should I put my apartment rent total, or just my third?
Applying for my first credit card and on the application it asks for your monthly housing payment. I live in an apartment with two roommates. I’m wondering if I should put down the full rent payment, or only my third of the rent?

Best answer:

Answer by sheloves_dablues
If the lease is in your name, and you’d have to cover the whole amount if there were no room-mates, indicate the whole amount. If you are not on the lease, indicate only what you pay on a monthly basis.

All that you need to shop to your heart’s content is this little plastic card. It can give you the most amazing amount of drive to buy things at the malls or online. But, not all credit tease applications get accepted. Some of them are rejected.

Why would a credit card supplier recurring to rejecting your credit application? They are the ones who want more customers queuing up at their doorstep, right?

The most obvious of things is a processing error that could be made whilst you are filling in the application for the new credit card. This might be a real little error such as the wrong zip code or telephone number but, they could work as a major reason for the card to be rejected.
